Valentines Ball Script 2006

What is love? This is an age old question which never seem to fail in evoking varied reactions.

And though we fancy knowing what the word really means or claim that it’s present in our daily lives, this abstract word seem to take a fresh value when February arrives.

Ah yes. February. The Month when we are supposed to be doubly reminded of love. Truly , three days ago, we experienced a shower of flowers, chocolates , hearts , gifts and well meant greetings in different languages: Ti Amo, I love you, Watashiwa Anata, Ich liebe dich, Iniibig Kita, Gwa Ay Di..

.

So they say in French: L'amour, l'amour fait tourner le monde [It's love, it's love that makes the world go round]. Tonight, we will be immersed in the cocoon of our loving school’s embrace as we celebrate this post valentine presentation.

Welcome to the Valentines Ball 2006,set under the canopy of the Holy Child Educational Center’s 14th Foundation Anniversary. Ladies and gentlemen, THE PROCESSIONAL

VOICE OVER with music

To express our love for our nation, let’s all join in the singing of THE PHILIPPINE NATIONAL ANTHEM.

To formally welcome us to this occasion, may we call Mdm. Dulia L. Gonowon.

Thank you, Madam for that warm welcome. We are now approaching the essence of this celebration. Friends, the pageant members in their opening dance presentation.

WALTZ (The Blue Danube and Emperor Waltz)

That was a marvelous production number! Quite something to remember.

Speaking of which, we are reminded that a month from now, these pretty young ladies and dashing young gentlemen will be leaving the portals of our beloved school. They are now at the treshold of another chapter in their lives. Not fit to be called children anymore…. But the citizens whom Rizal was so fond of exalting: THE YOUTH.

ENTRANCE OF THE YOUTH (Elaine Prades)

John Alan Appleman articulated:

I have heard it said that the first ingredient of success - the earliest spark in the dreaming youth - is this: dream a great dream.

But it isn’t enough to dream. One has to struggle for the realization of that dream. At present, young people has more challenges to hurdle: with cyber technological age added to the long list of trials usually facing youth.

No wonder, the youth is a great mass of nerves: Bewildered ..Confused. How will he/ she cope? And so, his/ her journey begins, in search for something… and she chanced upon the wind…

WIND SPEAKS

But the youth is not convinced. There has to be more than this, and then, she came upon the water

WATER SPEAKS

Bemused, the youth continued her search, and met lady fire…

FIRE SPEAKS

Dazed but still hopeful, the youth continued her journey… with a flash of inspiration, it occurred to her that what she may be looking for may not be far… thus, she found Mother Earth.

MOTHER EARTH SPEAKS

YOUTH ANSWERS

Mother Earth: Go forth … Mother Philippines awaits you.

MOTHER PHILIPPINES BLESSES YOUTH

Mother Philippines: You are almost done, but first, your Alma Mater is waiting for you. She will bestow her blessings.

ALMA MATER BLESSES YOUTH.

Youth:

Thank you, Mother Earth, Mother Philippines and Dear Alma Mater, I depart with an assurance…

That I’ll be what I should be… the hope of my motherland!

Thus, the youth set upon a fruitful journey… ready to face the challenges that may block her way… and as she heads off, she met her mentors … to wish her luck in her adventures.

CLASS PROPHECY

It is better to light just one little candle, than to stumble in the dark… Light could represent our guides in life…. Our parents, our teachers, our friends, our school administrators and even our competitors. Let’s keep our lights shining so we will not be led astray.
