YOUNG LEADERS CONGRESS

RATIONALE

In support of Holy Child Educational Center’s program under the umbrella of the individual’s total personality development, Gradeschool Activity Department resolved to present an avenue for young leaders from different grade levels to come together, get better acquainted and hopefully share concerns for the betterment of the HCEC community.

Hence, the HCEC Activity Center proposes to hold the YOUNG LEADERS’ CONGRESS on June 24, 2005 (12:00 to 5:00 ) .

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

The HCEC Young Leaders’ Congress aims to prepare the elected homeroom officers for the challenges they will face during the schoolyear. Specifically , it aims to:

1. Provide activities which will help the participants get better acquainted and be more at ease with each other so that it will pave a smoother way for airing out views and suggestions in the future.

2. Discuss characteristics of a good leader and tackle the duties and responsibilities of each officer.

3. Facilitate interaction through activities which aim to develop self confidence, assertiveness and self-reliance.

4. Organize the Young Leaders Society , the group that will steer the rest of the HCECians to achieve a common goal for the development of the HCEC community.

GUIDELINES FOR ELECTION

The HCEC Young Leaders’ Congress as an avenue for the election of the core group of leaders who will guide their fellow HCECians for the school year 2005-2006 , will follow the ensuing guidelines:

1. Only bona fide HCECians who are present in the congress will be nominated and elected into office.

2. The following designations shall be filled:

a. President ( shall come from level VI only)

b. Vice President

c. Secretary

d. Treasurer

e. Chairman on cleanliness

f. Chairman for Peace and Order

g. Representatives (one for each level)

3. The election will be formally started after the discussion of the duties and responsibilities of each official.

4. Except for the presidential post, all offices are open for candidates from Level I-VI. However, representatives should only come from their designated level.

5. A very brief speech shall be delivered by each nominee before election for the office starts.

6. Members of the congress shall vote by raising their right hand as the name of the candidate is called.

7. The pupil with the most number of votes will be official for the entire school year.

8. In case of tie, election for the particular office will be repeated.

9. The new set of officers will be inducted on the celebration of the first Friday mass on July.

10. Should any of the elected officers exhibit a behavior unbefitting of his/ her office, he/she will be obliged to resign from his/her office after careful consideration and investigation on the matter at hand.

11. All questions and enquiries about the election should be directed to the Gradeschool Activity Coordinator and the Guidance counselor after class hours.
