A Reception Program Script
V. ENTRANCE OF THE BRIDE AND GROOM
In acknowledgement of a love that transcends distance and space, let us all welcome with a round of applause, MR & MRS ___________________________________________.
VI. BRIEF LOVE STORY
”Every love story deserves to be heard , so it will grow a hundredfold”
Melvin C. Federis, a friend, a colleague and one of the entourage members will regale us with our couple’s love story.
VII. OPENING PRAYER
In behalf of the newlyweds and their beloved relatives, I heartily welcome you all to this celebration. Please all rise for the invocation to be led by____________________________, the bride’s maid of honor.
VIII. CEREMONIAL TOAST
All of us wish our new couple success in their married life.. let this sentiment echo through the ceremonial toast which will be led by the groom’s best man____________________. May I also request everybody in this hall to rise and hold their wine glasses in preparation for the ceremony.
IX. WELCOME MESSAGE
Parenthood is powerful because not only does it influences children in facing issues of earthly life but mostly because it affects their way of thinking about eternal life. Consequently, parenting is an exalted privilege. May we all have this in mind as we listen to the welcome address by ____________________, the ___________________
X. INSPIRATIONAL MESSAGES
the road of life is made easier when traveled with someone we love but even married life can be filled with obstructions. This is where the principal sponsors’ role come in. To give our young couple here some tips about the secrets of a life-long bond, we have two of our principal sponsors : may I call on:_______________________________ and ___________________________
XI. MODERN PANTOMINA
A joy shared is a joy made double… our couple will express more of this radiating bliss by dancing to the rhythm of an upbeat lovesong… the bride, herself calls it a modern pantomina… their first dance as husband and wife.
XII. SLICING OF CAKE
Life in abundance comes only through great love. In tying the proverbial knot, frank and donna expressed their willingness to share everything--- love, joys, vicissitudes and difficulties. To symbolize this sharing, we call on our newlyweds for the slicing of the cake and the drinking of wine.
(as the cake is being cut) The wish represented by the cake: LET US BREAK BREAD TOGETHER AND WISH FOR EACH OTHER LOVE, PEACE AND PROSPERITY” resounds. The simple gesture of feeding each other a piece of that cake signifies a willingness to be generous in fulfilling each other’s needs and to trust wholeheartedly in receiving what the other has to offer.
XIII. FREEING OF DOVES
Love in the heart wasn’t put there to stay coz love isn’t love ‘til it’s given away. Doves signify peace and harmony. Releasing them entails a readiness to share the same ideals to everyone. Let us also wish the same values to reign in frank and donna ‘s household.
XIV. BOUQUET AND GARTER CEREMONY
happiness is a perfume which you can’t pour on to someone without getting some on your self. Our lovely couple here would like to share that enthusiasm to brave the challenges of married life together to every single person in this room, particularly their bridesmaids and groomsmen. May I then request the bridesmaids and the secondary sponsors for the bouquet ceremony and the groomsmen for the garter toss.
XV. GRACE BEFORE MEALS
we’re gathered here to partake in the first meal of __________________ as couple. Thus, let us recognize our Great provider and ask Him to bless the meal we are about to partake. _________--will lead us into this prayer.
XVI. TABLE HOPPING
Friends, the ceremonies will continue as ___________ & _________ will have some souveneir photos taken with you .
XVII. WORD OF THANKS
In grateful appreciation of your presence here today, may I call in the groom and the bride to do the gesture of gratitude.
XVIII. OPENING OF GIFTS
our presence here is our most valuable gift to frank and donna… but our gift wrapped over there would help the couple start their lives… constant reminders that we’ve been here. The couple will now open two of those gifts.
XIX. CONCLUSION
ladies and gentlemen, never should we leave our prayers for the success of this marriage we have just witnessed in the confines of this hall. Bring them with you always so that frank and donna’s hearts will always be filled with love and respect for each other.
